OUR POPULAR CLASSES
Tiny Tumbling Ninja's
Our Tiny Tumbling ninja curriculum is designed to teach and prepare pre-school children between the ages of 3 yrs. thorough 5 yrs. to successfully enter into a full-range Martial Arts program starting at 6 yrs. and up. Statistics show that children placed into pre-school environments do much better in kindergarten and first grades because of the interaction experienced while socializing with other children. They learn to follow directions and share duties and responsibilities while developing athleticism through structured physical activities and games. Children respond better in a regular Martial Arts class and accelerate more rapidly after graduation from our Ninja Program. Our Ninja program combines games and tumbling skills that make the training fun yet discipline is instilled to help our students develop self confidence, listening skills, obedience, and most of all, respect for others especially adults.
Muay Thai / Kickboxing
The National sport of Thailand is unquestionably the most effective form of stand up fighting in the world. The entire body is utilized as a weapon. Elbows, knees. fists, forearms, shins, and feet are trained and developed for use as weapons offensively and defensively in this ancient style of Martial Arts. Muay Thai has only become highly acclaimed and recognized for the many attributes and benefits gained through the high intensity work out sessions formerly used exclusively to train professional fighters. It is safe fun, and mentally challenging to both the athletic and nonathletic, both male and female, ages 10 through 70 years. For the more serious martial artist it is recommended for teens and adults. Conditioning is a key part of this class. If you are looking to get more fit without the boredom of aerobics this is the perfect class for you!
Boxing
Traditional boxing techniques are taught such as the proper execution of the basic Jab, hook. cross and uppercut. Defenses of those basic techniques including proper blocking and slipping techniques. Footwork including shadow boxing angling maintaining distance conditioning and balance are taught for functional self-defense or just plain old style physical conditioning and weight loss.
Tae Kwon Do / Karate
Tae Kwon Do stands head and shoulders above the rest of the traditional martial arts in popularity resulting from its association and membership in the IOC and the recognition and prestige that accompany acceptance as an Olympic sport. More importantly however are the character building attributes associated with the philosophical and spiritual teachings that TKD offers our youths. In a world with diminishing morals, declining civil order and lack of discipline we have become a nation searching for alternatives to rebuild, instill and put strong moral values back into a society that our great nation was founded upon. TKD is one of the most popular alternatives.
Enrollment Procedure
Purpose of Orientation / Introductory Classes
We really need to get to know each other.
What brought you into our studio?
Fitness and Exercise? Weight Loss? Self-Defense? Art Form? Protection from Bully's? Confidence and self-esteem? We need to know more about you.
Can we provide the training you want and need?
Do We train Children? Do we train Seniors? Are we geared for self-defense? Are we geared for Fitness and Exercise? Do we place emphases on the Philosophy? Are we considered a Traditional school? How young do we start children? Do we train Amateur and Professional fighters? You need to know more about us.
When and how can you get started?
Placing new students into an ongoing classroom environment disrupts the class, breeds feelings of inadequacy, can overwhelm, and embarrass and even has the potential to traumatize new students. Most people find it preferable to be taught new techniques they may struggle with at first in a private, personal one on one environment free of observations by strangers. It also allows important bonding time between you and the new instructor and provides the instructor the opportunity for explanations and demonstrations of new moves. Your comfort, safety and well-being is of primary importance to us.
If you are a novice, experienced practitioner or a seasoned professional or amateur fighter you will be required to go thru two (2) totally private orientation/introductory classes before making the decision to sign up for and enter class. The Orientation will introduce you to our studio's unique style of techniques while eliminating many of the fears, anxieties, apprehensions, or any number of misgivings prospective students or parents may have prior to making the decision to enroll.
The Orientation allows for questions, explanations and comparisons you may have regarding technical or philosophical teachings you may have personally experienced or heard about. They will provide both you and us with valuable insights, facts and important information which will enable us to recommend a program that will best suite you or your child's needs. The private lessons will also prepare and provide you with the confidence to help you fit into and adjust to your new classroom environment should you decide to enroll. If you are new to the Martial Arts or an experienced amateur or even a seasoned professional fighter you will quickly understand and appreciate the importance of our orientation classes which will provide you with important information and insight enabling you to make a decision to join one of our programs or not.
Who would commit to spending thousands of their hard earned dollars training at a facility they know very little about and how can we guide new perspective students with out first determining their physical I Q (intelligence quotient). Children as well as adults are uniquely different both physically and mentally. Some are already confident, self-assured with high levels of athleticism. Others are un-athletic, timid, shy, overweight and out of condition totally lacking self-confidence. The variances can be extreem and include special needs children and adults suffering attention deficiency disorders (ADD) or autism both of which receive significant benefits thru Martial Arts training.
Studios can not blindly advise nor guide prospective students without an orientation/evaluation any more than a physician can prescribe treatments and medications based solely on the recommendations and self-evaluations of patients over the phone. They require comprehensive medical evaluations and testing before they can safely diagnose and treat their patients. Neither Medicine nor Martial Arts are blind sciences.
The Orientation procedure not only provides you with a professional evaluation and diagnosis but better enables us to define how and if we can provide the professional services you came to us in search of.
